The following are the rules or “Terms” that govern use of the Basingstoke Comic Con website and Events. By using or visiting this website, you expressly agree to be bound by these Terms and to follow these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations governing the website. Basingstoke Comic Con reserve the right to change these Terms at any time, effective immediately upon posting on the website. Please check this page of our website periodically. If you violate these Terms of Use, Basingstoke Comic Con may terminate your use of the website, bar you from future events, cancel your ticket order, and/or take appropriate legal action against you.

Basingstoke Comic Con reserves the right to refuse admission or ask someone to leave any of their events and activities to anyone for any reason deemed necessary. You may not be permitted into the Event or may be ejected from it, and required to surrender any Tickets you hold, without refund, if you refuse to leave a Prohibited Item with our staff or refuse to be searched on entry or if, in our reasonable opinion, you or your behaviour or any item you are carrying:

(a) poses a health and safety risk;

(b) affects the enjoyment of other visitors;

(c) affects the running of the Event;

(d) may cause damage to or interfere with the property of Basingstoke Comic Con

(e) is in breach of these Venue Terms;

(f) is illegal;

(g) may lead to a breach of any licensing conditions applicable at Hampshire Court Hotel; or

(h) is in breach of any rules and regulations exhibited on notices at Hampshire Court Hotel, such as:

(i) entering any backstage or prohibited areas

(ii) standing in seats or in walkways

(iii) climbing on the building structure

(iv) throwing any objects or substances onto the stage or into the crowd or at another visitor

(v) smoking.

If anybody is refused entry or asked to leave because they broke our Terms & Conditions   Basingstoke Comic Con cannot be considered responsible for any cost or loss sustained.

While attending any event, meeting or activity attendees need to pay attention to and follow promptly any instruction coming from staff. Refusal may result in you being removed from the event, meeting or activity.

Please note that our events are for adults, and may have adult content. We do not ban children but they must be accompanied by an adult who has confirmed to us in writing that they are aware of the content of these events. It is your responsibility to check the suitability of an Event for any children in your party regardless of official age restrictions, this includes considering the type of audience the Event is likely to attract and whether such an audience is a suitable environment for children in your party. Refunds will not be issued if any aspect of an Event, including the behaviour of other audience members, causes offence to you or any children on whose behalf you have purchased Tickets.

Children under 12 go free with an accompanying adult. Please email info@basingstokecomiccon.com  with the accompanying adult’s order number and child’s name(s).

Hampshire Court Hotel is fully accessible to wheelchair users and those with mobility issues. We recommend that anyone requiring special assistance check with us before booking to ensure that we are able to care of organisational details. We do have a limited number of wheelchair places available in the main hall which can be booked by email.

Animals, with the exception of assistance dogs, are not permitted at our events. Customers attending with assistance dogs are requested to contact Customer Service in advance for further information.

To attend an event organized by Basingstoke Comic Con you must bring a printed copy of your confirmation email for that event and an ID document, failing to provide this will result in denial to enter the event.

We will be required to security check all attendees ‘ bags and/or I.D. cards before entry to the event Searching is a condition of entry to protect your safety and that of other attendees.  We may conduct security searches of clothing, bags and other items, as determined by us in our reasonable discretion, including on entry and exit.

We reserve the right to prohibit within the event:

(a) items which are or may be illegal. Anyone found in possession of illegal or contraband goods may also be liable for prosecution;

(b) weapons, ammunition, explosives, horns, whistles, drums, fireworks, or any other item which in our reasonable opinion, may cause danger or disruption to any Event or to other attendees (regardless of whether or not such item is illegal or is carried for specific purposes);

(c)  items which artists performing at an Event or their management have asked us to prohibit or are otherwise prohibited pursuant to the Venue Terms.

Tickets are non-refundable and; any tickets found to be sold via third parties will be cancelled. Basingstoke Comic Con will not be required to honour Tickets if we know or have reasonable grounds for believing that they have been purchased from unauthorised agents or other unauthorised sources including, without limitation, ticket touts, or duplicated.

However under certain circumstances tickets can be re-sold via Basingstoke Comic Con. Email tickets@basingstokecomiccon.com if you are unable to attend the Event.

 

Basingstoke Comic Con are not responsible for orders that are failed to complete during processing that may be due to customer errors, credit card failures, or system errors during transmission of the order. When ordering please ensure you receive a confirmation email with barcode for entry to event.

All ticket prices are subject to change.

For Events with seated and standing arrangements, each Ticket provides you with a licence to occupy a seat or to stand in an area (as applicable) of a value corresponding to that stated on your Ticket. We reserve the right to provide alternative seats to those specified on the Ticket where it is not possible to allow you to occupy the specific seat printed on your Ticket.  In these circumstances, we will use reasonable endeavours to provide you with a seat of equal value to that which you purchased and where we are unable to do so we will reimburse to you the difference in value of the seat we are able to provide and the value of the seat printed on your Ticket and we shall have no further liability to you as a result of the change in seats.

In the event of an event cancellation or date change, Basingstoke Comic Con is not responsible for refunding airfare, hotel or any other third party costs.

Basingstoke Comic Con accepts no responsibility for arrangements made by attendees with third parties and does not endorse them.

You are responsible for safeguarding your property when at our events and Basingstoke Comic Con will have no liability for property that is lost, stolen or damaged.

Basingstoke Comic Con accepts no responsibility for opinions and personal declarations expressed by guests and participants attending the events.

All Guests appearances at our events are subject to work, personal commitments and unexpected events. If a Guest is unable to attend or has to leave early, Basingstoke Comic Con will provide a full refund for all events specific to that guest, such as autographs or photo ops

All Events’ activities can be subject to changes and cancellations. Some guests may request a limit on the number of autographs signed and photos taken. Photo and autograph sessions could be subject to time limits or other unexpected restrictions; therefore, the Basingstoke Comic Con cannot guarantee photo ops and autographs for all attendees. After all available ones are purchased there is no guarantee that more will be provided.

Basingstoke Comic Con assumes no responsibility for typographical errors or inaccurate information provided by convention venues.

Only attendees who have a brought a pass to an event can buy extras such as photo ops and autographs.

Guests attending an event may appear for 3 days, 2 days, 1 day or part of 1 day during the event.

Guests may refuse to sign items they do not find suitable including items of unlicensed merchandise. If you are unsure if an item is suitable, please check with staff before asking for autograph.

Activities such as photo ops and autographs do not equate to a meeting with a guest. Any type of personalization is subject to the guest discretion for photo ops or autographs. Do not take up more time than strictly required for your photo and signing, anyone who does not respected this rule may be asked to leave.

Our Meet & Greets are for a limited number of fans and anything discussed in these sessions must remain private.  Anyone who transcribes or posts about anything that was discussed, talked about or mentioned during the meetings will be banned from all future events.

When attending an event please do not line up for an activity before you are called, you should also only line up only in approved areas.  Please do not block passages creating security troubles for attendees; any request coming from the staff about moving, lining up, clearing the way should be followed at once.

In case of emergency please follow instructions and directions from staff and/or other officials.

No smoking is permitted in any part of the event.

Attendees must not audio record, video record or live stream any part of this event, anyone who does so will be will be asked to leave and banned from all future event.

Still photography will be allowed in certain areas and for personal use only, public dissemination and commercial use is strictly prohibited. This includes photo ops pictures which are also for personal use only.  In main hall, you are allowed to take pictures only from your seat and without the use of flash.  All attendees are not allowed to take pictures during autograph or photo sessions or at any special activity unless agreed in advance

Mobile phones must be either on flight mode or on silent when in the Main Hall, Photo or Autograph Sessions and any special activity.

CCTV and film cameras may be present at and around our events, this includes filming by the police or security staff carried out for the security of visitors, and filming and/or photography by Basingstoke Comic Con. By purchasing a Ticket to an Event you give your express consent to all such filming and to your actual or simulated likeness being included within any film, photograph, audio and/or audiovisual recording (“Footage”), all rights in which will be owned by us, or the relevant third party. You also agree that any such Footage may be used by us in any and all media for any purpose at any time throughout the world, including (with the exception of CCTV or security Footage) for commercial purposes, such as merchandising or DVDs, without payment or compensation to you.

Buying a ticket to the event only grants the rights and privileges stated in the description available on this website and nothing else.

Basingstoke Comic Con’s materials may not be reproduced, copied, edited, published, transmitted or uploaded in any way without our written permission.

When buying a ticket you tacitly confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions and to all information and rules available on our website.

Please be aware that some venues may have their own terms and conditions, which may apply to you when using your Tickets and attending an Event, in addition to these our Terms.

Should you experience any problems while at the event please contact our staff so that every reasonable effort can be made to resolve the issue prior to, or during the Event you are attending as complaints are very difficult to resolve after the Event.

If we breach our obligations to you under these Terms or we are negligent and, as a result, you suffer any loss or damage in connection with your presence at The Event, you may be entitled to claim that loss from us, but:

(a) we will only be liable for your loss or damage up to an amount equal to the face value of the Ticket purchased by you for the Event you are attending (if any); and

(b) we will not be liable to you for loss or expenses incurred in connection with your visit to The Event, or its cancellation, such as the cost of any personal travel, accommodation or hospitality arrangements made in connection with any Event.

For the purposes of these  Terms, “Force Majeure” means any cause beyond Basingstoke Comic Con’s control, including, without limitation, any act of God, war, insurrection, riot, civil disturbances, acts of terrorism, fire, explosion, flood, national mourning, theft of essential equipment, malicious damage, strike, lock out, weather, national defence requirements or acts or regulations of national or local governments. Basingstoke Comic Con will not be liable to you under these Terms to the extent that the failure is cause by a Force Majeure event. However nothing in these terms shall be construed as excluding or restricting our liability for death and/or personal injury caused by our negligence nor for any other form of liability that may not by law be limited.

This agreement is governed by and shall be construed in accordance with English Law.

The courts of England have exclusive jurisdiction to hear and decide any suit action or proceedings and to settle any disputes which may arise out of or in connection with this Agreement and for these purposes each party irrevocably submits to the jurisdiction the courts of England (save in the cases of members based in Scotland in whose case the Scottish courts shall also have jurisdiction).
